Someone asked me if I had a favorite Psalm. I had to think about that for a moment. I love the Psalms. They give me such encouragement. I thought about Psalm 103 where David writes:
"Praise the Lord oh my soul, and forget not all His benefits,
Who forgives all you sins and heals all your diseases.
who redeems your life from the pit
and crowns you with love and compassion,
Who satisfies your desires with good things
so that your youth is renewed like the eagles"
THAT is awesome! Forget not His benefits. His benefits....wow...
Then I think of Psalm 108 where in verse 12 it says:
"Give us aid against the enemy,
for the help of man is worthless.
With God we will gain the victory,
and He will trample down our enemies".
Such a powerful Psalm!
There are so many wonderful Psalms but I think that Psalm 107 is my favorite. It is such a Psalm of hope and promise. I like the entire psalm that tells of how God rescues His people - "He sent forth His Word and healed them. He rescued them from the grave." - that's a power verse!
I love that after every action of God to rescue His people we are admonished to "give thanks to the Lord for his unfailing love and His wonderful deeds for men"
His unfailing love, unfailing love and wonderful deeds for men! He is the same yesterday, today and forever! His Love is still unfailing and He is still doing wonderful deeds for men! He is a miracle working, loving God! He is for us and not against us! Expect "wonderful deeds" from a God that loves you "unfailingly".
Yeah - I get excited when I read Psalm 107. It's my favorite Psalm. What's yours?
