What Do You Think?

I enjoy reading and posting on blogs that relate to Christian Music. On
one blog the discussion turned to Country music. A writer was upset
about big Country music artists that sing about,"cheatin',drinkin' and womanizin'"
and then do a "Gospel" album. The writer thought that it was wrong to
play these songs on Christian radio. He thought that even though they
were Christian songs, the artist's other work was far fromexemplifying Christian principles.

Another
posted a follow up remark stating that we shouldn't judge the person's
life but only the music. He said that half of the church is like this;
"singing songs of sin six days a week, and then lifting their hands and
praising God on the seventh".

What do you think?

It's not as much about the singer and their life (although ideally they would practice what that 'preach' 24/7, but how many of us can say that we really always do?) but about how the song inspires the listener and brings them closer to God. Even a 'cheatin'drinkin' country singer can give us a unique perspective on God.
